Cartoon Network
Kelly Deen is director, consumer marketing for Cartoon Network, a global kids and family entertainment network within Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.'s portfolio of cable/satellite television networks, digital properties and entertainment businesses targeted for kids and young adults. In this capacity, Deen oversees the development of show positioning, media strategy, marketing execution and brand positioning for Cartoon Network's animated and live-action original, action-adventure series and movies. Additionally, her efforts expand traditional marketing campaigns to include strategic multi-platform reach through social media content and digital media campaigns. Deen is based in Atlanta and reports directly to Scott Thomas, vice president, consumer marketing for Cartoon Network.
Deen joined Turner Broadcasting in December 2008. Among her core responsibilities, she developed and launched the social strategy for Cartoon Network—including all digital and social media efforts—helping to build a universe of 30 million fans in less than three years. She also serves as the International Franchise development leader for the network's $3 billion Ben 10 property, including marketing, product development, retail support and long-term strategy on a global basis. Deen continues to lead a team of seasoned marketers in developing positioning, strategy and execution for tentpole network properties, as well as promotional partnerships for key brands.
Prior to Cartoon Network, Deen served as an account supervisor and lead strategist at For Momentum, providing consulting to Fortune 500 companies and top-tier non-profit clients with cause-marketing, community affairs and social responsibility programs. There she developed strategic and integrated programs that built successful corporate and non-profit partnerships, promoting community outreach, employee engagement and volunteerism, diversity outreach and brand marketing and public relations integration. Earlier in her career, Deen worked several years as a senior marketing communications manager at internet services provider EarthLink, and as a strategic consultant for the Arthritis Foundation (National Headquarters). Before this, she was an associate marketing manager for Intercontinental Hotels Group.
Deen received her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Clemson University in South Carolina. A noted speaker at various entertainment, marketing, digital and cause-marketing conferences, Deen also was selected as a 2011 Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) "Rising Leader" recipient.
