Carla Christensen is Director of Product Management and Strategy for Early Childhood and Clinical at global education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Working with a cross-functional team, Carla manages HMH’s dedicated line of products for early learners as well as the strategic development of new solutions for this growing market.  Carla’s role includes the integration of early learning products across institutional, consumer and clinical areas so that educators and families alike can benefit from pedagogically-sound, creative learning solutions like HMH’s Curious World and Curiosityville, at home and in the classroom.

 

Carla started her career as a preschool teacher, before moving into educational content development. Prior to joining HMH, Carla spent nearly 14 years as an early learning specialist and product manager at Pearson, gaining deep experience in all phases of curriculum and assessment product development for the Pre-K market. Carla holds a BA from Hampshire College and an MA in Early Childhood Education from University of Michigan, where she was also a graduate research assistant, adjunct lecturer and practicum supervisor.
